Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to fully refund the processing fees to overseas Pakistanis who applied for the Neelor Heights Housing Project and to offer them priority in the forthcoming plot allotments in Sector C-14. This move is part of a broader initiative to provide expatriates with enhanced access to real estate opportunities in the nation’s capital.
According to Zameen.Com, the CDA’s new policy includes a balloting process specifically designed to favor overseas applicants, addressing their long-standing demands for better access to property investments in Islamabad. Sector C-14, which had been partially sold to and later reacquired from a private property group, will see its remaining plots, still owned by the CDA, allocated with significant funding earmarked for infrastructural development, highlighting the authority’s efforts to improve the area’s facilities and attractiveness.
The recent fifteenth board meeting of the CDA, chaired by Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, introduced several key reforms and directives. Among these was the establishment of a seven-member committee to manage the grievances of individuals affected by land acquisitions in Islamabad. To ensure fairness and transparency in these processes, the board has also endorsed the creation of a third-party validation committee to assess and verify the main committee’s recommendations.
Furthermore, the board directed the Law Wing to draft proposals for setting up covered markets in Islamabad and confirmed the appointment of a new legal advisor. It also imposed a rule preventing former legal advisors from representing any cases against the CDA for one year after their tenure ends.
In another significant administrative enhancement, the CDA approved promotion pathways for Park Managers and Assistant Park Managers in the Environment Wing and upgraded the positions of physical training instructors to grade 16, aligning them with federal employment standards.
These measures underscore the CDA’s commitment to improving transparency and efficiency in its operations, particularly in real estate dealings, and to supporting the Pakistani diaspora’s investment in the country.
