Islamabad: In a series of meetings focused on environmental sustainability and infrastructure enhancement, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, the Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), engaged with diplomats from Ethiopia, Denmark, and Iraq. The discussions revolved around integrating international expertise and local initiatives to foster a greener Islamabad.
According to Zameen.Com, the Ethiopian Ambassador, Jemal Beker Abdula, and Chairman Randhawa explored cooperation on projects like the Margalla Hill plantation drive. Inspired by Ethiopia’s Green Corridor Project in Addis Ababa, Ambassador Abdula showed a strong inclination towards contributing to Islamabad's green efforts. In response, Chairman Randhawa proposed a specific area for the Ethiopian Embassy to lead tree plantation activities.
Furthermore, the Danish Ambassador to Pakistan, Jakob Linulf, praised the CDA’s ongoing environmental initiatives. Ambassador Linulf offered Denmark’s expertise in renewable energy and solid waste management to enhance these efforts. He also expressed a desire to join the Margalla Hills plantation campaign, highlighting the potential for incorporating Denmark’s best practices to advance Islamabad’s environmental goals.
These discussions underscore a growing international collaboration aimed at transforming Islamabad into a modern, eco-friendly capital.
