Faisalabad: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has unveiled plans to develop an IT City and an international standard Safari Park in Faisalabad, aiming to transform the city into a center for technology and recreation. These developments are part of a larger effort to enhance the city’s infrastructure and public services, including the launch of a Metro Bus service scheduled for next year.
According to Zameen.Com, the announcement underscores the government’s commitment to adopting successful models from other cities to boost Faisalabad’s status as a hub for technological innovation and leisure activities. The planned IT City will be Pakistan’s second, designed to foster significant growth in the tech sector, while the Safari Park aims to offer a world-class recreational experience.
Further initiatives include upgrading the Faisalabad-Sheikhupura Road, enhancing public health facilities to meet international standards, and developing urban spaces previously occupied by land grabbers. The Chief Minister has also emphasized the importance of making local officials more accessible to the public through open forums, which will facilitate the addressing of citizens’ concerns more directly.
Additionally, the Safe City Project, aimed at improving security and surveillance in Faisalabad, is expected to be completed by June of the following year. These efforts collectively highlight a robust agenda to improve transportation, health services, and urban living conditions while keeping essential commodity prices like bread and flour under check.
