Lahore: In a significant development for Punjab’s industrial sector, Modern Ceramics Sanitary Ware (Pvt) Limited, a leading Chinese firm, plans to invest PKR 8 billion to establish a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in the Allama Iqbal Industrial City (AIIC). This move is aimed at boosting the domestic production of sanitary ware and positioning Pakistan as a major exporter in international markets.

According to Zameen.Com, the investment details were discussed in a meeting held at the Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) headquarters, attended by PBIT Chairman Muntaha Ashraf, CEO Suhail Saleem, and Board Member Ahmad Ali Tariq. The discussions focused on finalizing the strategies for the development of this new facility, which is expected to meet the increasing local demand and explore export opportunities particularly in the Middle East and Africa.

The project is poised to generate over 500 jobs and will significantly enhance the economic growth of the region. It is also designed to reduce Pakistan’s dependency on imported sanitary products, thus saving foreign exchange and improving the trade balance. Chairman Muntaha Ashraf reassured the Chinese delegation of PBIT’s complete support in facilitating the establishment of this manufacturing unit, underscoring the commitment to expand Punjab’s industrial base and enhance its footprint in the global export markets.
