Daraz Trains 1,000 Female Entrepreneurs in Punjab Under “Proudly Pakistani” Initiative

Karachi: In a continued effort to foster economic empowerment, Daraz has successfully trained a new group of 1,000 female entrepreneurs in the Punjab region, as part of its “Proudly Pakistani” initiative. This program, aimed at promoting local products and enhancing digital commerce skills among women, was carried out in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department of the Government of Punjab across eight cities.

According to Daraz, the training sessions are designed to equip participants with essential digital marketing and e-commerce skills, enabling them to effectively showcase and sell their products on Daraz's online platform. This initiative not only provides these entrepreneurs with access to a vast online customer base but also aims to bolster local economies by integrating more businesses into the digital marketplace.

The "Proudly Pakistani" initiative was launched last August and has already benefited over 600 small business owners across the country in its first year. Daraz and the Social Welfare Department plan to closely monitor and assess the socioeconomic impact of the program, focusing particularly on income generation and community development in the Punjab region.

Ehsan Saya, Managing Director of Daraz Pakistan, emphasized the company’s commitment to community uplift through e-commerce. "Helping local businesses thrive in e-commerce has always been our ultimate end-goal," said Saya. "We are excited to create even more significant and meaningful impact this year through our 'Proudly Pakistani' initiative. We are optimistic about the future success these female business owners will achieve on our platform and their potential to increase their incomes and improve their livelihoods."
