Dollar Holds Steady as Euro and Pound Edge Higher in Pakistan’s Exchange Market

Karachi: The Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan (ECAP) released the latest open market closing exchange rates on July 22, 2025, showing stability in the value of the U.S. dollar against the Pakistani rupee, while the euro and British pound saw slight increases.

The U.S. dollar closed with a buying rate of 287.39 PKR and a selling rate of 288.60 PKR. Despite fluctuations in global markets, the dollar's rate remained steady in Pakistan's open market.

The euro recorded a buying rate of 335.90 PKR and a selling rate of 339.00 PKR. The British pound was bought at 387.48 PKR and sold at 391.05 PKR, reflecting a minor upward trend.

Other currencies also saw movement. The Japanese yen's buying rate was 1.92 PKR, with a selling rate of 1.97 PKR. The United Arab Emirates dirham (AED) was bought at 78.39 PKR and sold at 79.10 PKR. Meanwhile, the Saudi riyal (SAR) had a buying rate of 76.66 PKR and a selling rate of 77.27 PKR.

The data provided by the State Bank of Pakistan indicates the ongoing stability of major currencies in the local exchange market amid global economic conditions.
