ICCI President Highlights Economic Opportunities Following Saudi Delegation Visit

Islamabad: Nasir Mansoor Qureshi, President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), has heralded the recent visit of a high-level Saudi delegation as a crucial advancement in the strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The visit, led by Saudi Minister of Investment Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, is anticipated to culminate in bilateral agreements valued at $2 billion.

According to Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, during discussions with various delegations at ICCI, Qureshi praised the visit as a testament to the robust ties between the two nations, emphasizing that it marks a significant milestone. He noted that this development is particularly timely, as Pakistan experiences a phase of political and economic stabilization, which he believes is a positive sign for future progress.

Qureshi highlighted the need for political stability as a precursor to economic stability, pointing out that the improved political landscape in Pakistan is attracting interest from friendly countries for investments and joint ventures. Such international collaborations are seen as vital for the country’s economic betterment.

Furthermore, Qureshi advocated for the removal of bureaucratic hurdles to enhance the ease of doing business in Pakistan. He called for better facilities and resources to support businesses, rather than imposing intimidation, harassment, and burdensome taxes on existing taxpayers.

As president of ICCI, Qureshi reaffirmed his commitment to fostering business opportunities and economic growth. He mentioned ongoing efforts by ICCI to explore new business avenues, attract foreign investment, and promote Pakistan’s tourism potential, activities that are crucial for the country’s economic development.

The ICCI meeting was also attended by members Naeem Siddiqui, Malik Mohsin Khalid, and others, who collectively underscored the potential impacts of the Saudi delegation’s visit on Pakistan’s economic landscape.
