Islamabad: In a significant move toward sustainable urban development, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) is partnering with Chinese investors to transition its office buildings in Islamabad to solar energy. A high-level Chinese delegation recently met with CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa and the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad to discuss this green initiative alongside other investment opportunities.
According to Zameen.Com, the discussions highlighted the mutual commitment to enhancing Islamabad’s infrastructure with sustainable technologies. The Chinese delegation, demonstrating a keen interest in the CDA’s shift toward renewable energy, explored the feasibility of solarizing office buildings. Chairman Randhawa expressed appreciation for China’s continued investment in Pakistan’s infrastructure projects, noting that the solar energy proposal aligns with both countries’ interests in promoting environmental sustainability.
The meeting also covered other ambitious CDA projects, such as the creation of a Silicon Valley-inspired hub and the development of a state-of-the-art Four Tier Data Center. These initiatives are part of Islamabad’s broader strategy to position itself as a technologically advanced and sustainable capital.
