Karachi: The Karachi Interbank Offered Rate (KIBOR) remained steady on Tuesday, reflecting ongoing concerns about economic stability. According to the State Bank of Pakistan, the rates showed little movement across various tenors, with the bid and offer rates maintaining a narrow margin.
For the one-week tenor, the bid rate stood at 10.88, with an offer rate of 11.38. Similarly, the two-week and one-month tenors recorded bid rates of 10.84 and offer rates of 11.34, indicating consistency in short-term borrowing costs.
The data, sourced from Refinitiv, also highlighted that the three-month tenor saw a slight bid increase to 10.91, with an offer rate of 11.16. The six-month tenor exhibited a marginally higher bid rate of 10.92 and an offer rate of 11.17.
Longer-term borrowing costs showed stability, with the nine-month and one-year tenors both reflecting bid rates of 10.89 and offer rates of 11.39.
These figures suggest that the financial markets might be experiencing a period of cautious optimism, with stakeholders closely monitoring economic indicators.
