Islamabad: The KSE-100 index experienced a significant upswing, rising by 1,274.26 points, a 0.86% increase, to close at 148,617.78 on Tuesday. DGKC led the gainers with a remarkable 10% jump, closing at 207.47 rupees. This positive movement contributed to a 0.83% rise in the KSE-30 index, which finished at 45,247.79.
The day's trading showcased substantial activity, with a total volume of 1,342.20 million shares traded, amounting to a turnover of 52.31 billion rupees (185.63 million US dollars). BOP topped the volume chart with 128.75 million shares exchanged. Among the top gainers, FCCL and TGL also posted substantial gains, rising 8.42% and 8.26% respectively. On the other hand, INDU experienced the largest decline, falling 4.84%.
Market capitalization reached 17,655.78 billion rupees (62.66 billion US dollars), reflecting year-to-date growth of 29.09% for the KSE-100 index and 25.05% for the KSE-30 index in CY25. Regional markets presented a mixed picture, with some indices showing gains while others experienced declines. China's SSEA gained 0.4%, while India's BSESN dipped 0.3%.
