Karachi: Meezan Bank, Pakistan's leading Islamic bank, has concluded the second cohort of its educational initiative, 'Meezan Justuju - A Quest for Islamic Finance Leaders!'. Conducted in collaboration with the IBA Centre for Excellence in Islamic Finance (CEIF), the program aims to prepare young graduates for leadership roles in the Islamic finance sector. The initiative is part of Meezan Bank's corporate social responsibility efforts to foster human capital development through specialized training and mentorship.
The graduation ceremony for the latest batch took place in Karachi, attended by senior officials from Meezan Bank, including Shayan Baig, Deputy Head of Shariah Compliance, and Arsalan Ahmed Khan, Head of Talent Acquisition and Digital HR Solutions. Prior ceremonies in Lahore and Islamabad recognized participant achievements.
Following the success of the first cohort, initially held in Karachi, the program expanded to include Lahore and Islamabad. It offered 42 hours of training, integrating Islamic finance principles with banking knowledge, positioning participants for careers in the sector.
Islamic banking in Pakistan has grown significantly, boasting a network of 6,093 branches, assets exceeding PKR 11.5 trillion, and deposits of PKR 8.4 trillion. This growth is fueled by domestic adoption and international interest, driven by the industry's alignment with responsible investment practices. In this environment, Meezan Justuju stands as a strategic initiative, cultivating a pool of talent ready to contribute to the evolving financial landscape.
