Pakistan and UK Strengthen Ties in Security and Law Enforcement

Islamabad: Pakistan and the United Kingdom have agreed to bolster their collaborative efforts in police training, extradition, immigration, and the fight against human trafficking. This understanding was reached during a meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Director General of the British National Crime Agency, Graeme Biggar, held in Islamabad.

The meeting saw both parties concur on the swift finalization of five Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) that will facilitate cooperation in extradition and other related areas. They also resolved to increase mutual collaboration in providing training courses for officers of various agencies, including the Anti-Narcotics Force and the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency.

In addition, the parties agreed to coordinate more effectively in addressing the online harassment of children, an area of growing concern in both countries.

During the discussions, Graeme Biggar condemned the recent suicide attack in Islamabad and expressed condolences for the victims. He also commended Pakistan's efforts in narcotics control and reiterated the UK's commitment to cooperating with Pakistan across several domains.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi highlighted Pakistan's resilience in combating terrorism globally and emphasized that modern training and forensic techniques can further enhance the capabilities of law enforcement agencies.
