Pcdma Cautions On Dpl Issue Despite Deadline Extension

Islamabad: The Pakistan Chemicals and Dyes Merchants Association (PCDMA) has expressed cautious optimism following the Ministry of Energy’s decision to postpone the deadline for the Dangerous Petroleum License (DPL) to October 23, 2025. While the association welcomed the extension, it emphasized that the core regulatory problem, posing a threat to industrial operations, remains unaddressed.

PCDMA Chairman Salim Valimohammad thanked Federal Minister for Energy (Petroleum Division) Ali Pervaiz Malik, Director General of Explosives Abdul Ali Khan, and Director Muhammad Aftab Qazi for their assistance and prompt action. He acknowledged the deadline postponement as a beneficial measure but noted that it effectively offers only a 42-day extension from the original September 11 deadline. This duration, he argued, is insufficient, given the typical 60–90-day import cycle for the industry.
