Peshawar: The Small Industries Development Board (SIDB) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has initiated the construction of the Peshawar Industrial Park, targeting the completion of its first two phases within the next two years. The project, valued at PKR 3 billion, is poised to create approximately 25,000 jobs and includes the development of 400 industrial units.
According to Zameen.Com, the SIDB has recently accelerated the Peshawar Industrial Park project. This development effort is strategically positioned along a 48-kilometer, four-lane expressway that connects Peshawar with Torkham, enhancing trade routes and regional economic ties.
The SIDB Managing Director, Habibullah Arif, has issued directives to the chief executives of the involved construction firms to adhere strictly to the project timeline. Key officials, including Deputy Managing Director Engineer Zulfikar Ali Sahibzada, Deputy Managing Director (Planning & Development) Noman Fayaz, and Joint Director Safdar Abbas Afridi, have underscored the economic potential of this initiative.
The Industrial Park is located in the Sara Khawra locality of the Zangali area along Kohat Road. This location is near vital transportation arteries, such as the Indus highways and the Khyber Pass Economic Corridor, which is crucial for fostering connectivity with Afghanistan and the Central Asian Republics, a region with a combined population of over 130 million.
