PM Directs CDA to Build International Standard Club for Expats in Islamabad

Islamabad: The Prime Minister of Pakistan has directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to construct an international standard club in Islamabad aimed at attracting overseas Pakistanis and generating significant revenue. The new facility, designed to be a world-class venue, will cater exclusively to expatriates and contribute to the economic and aesthetic enhancement of the capital city.

According to Zameen.Com, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has mandated the CDA to ensure the club meets global benchmarks in terms of quality and services. This directive aligns with broader efforts to drive economic growth and improve the city’s infrastructure.

The club, which is projected to cost PKR 27 billion, is set to offer exclusive memberships to overseas Pakistanis, with an initial capacity to serve 10,000 members who will each pay a membership fee of USD 20,000. This initiative is not only expected to provide a state-of-the-art facility but also to establish a sustainable source of revenue for the CDA.

During a recent briefing with senior CDA officials, the Prime Minister emphasized that the new club should exceed the standards of existing local establishments like the Gymkhana Club and Islamabad Club. He has instructed the CDA to prepare a detailed Project Concept (PC-1) document to ensure that all aspects of the club’s infrastructure and services are on par with international standards.

The selection of the project’s site will be finalized shortly, and the CDA is set to present an updated plan for the Prime Minister’s approval following his return from international duties. The development of this club is a critical component of the CDA’s strategy to enhance Islamabad’s attractiveness as a global city while fostering economic expansion.
