Karachi: Pakistan State Oil (PSO) has celebrated a significant milestone with the successful completion of its Shaheen Program, an initiative aimed at enhancing women's mobility. The program provides training in driving and bike riding, with the goal of fostering independence and self-reliance among women.
Through this initiative, PSO has made strides in challenging societal norms by empowering women to take the wheel. Out of 600 applicants, 120 were selected for rigorous training, culminating in 92 women obtaining their driving licenses.
A ceremony at PSO's headquarters marked the occasion, where certificates were awarded to the graduates. The event featured Ms. Gulzar Khoja, CFO of PSO, as the keynote speaker, who commended the participants for their dedication and perseverance.
The Shaheen Program is part of PSO's broader effort to promote social change and gender equality. By enabling women to gain mobility, the program is contributing to a more inclusive environment where women can pursue their ambitions.
