Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has unveiled a new online system designed to streamline property transfers within Rawalpindi Improvement Trust (RIT) schemes, as announced by Director General Kinza Murtaza on October 7.
According to Zameen.Com, the move towards digitization is intended to simplify real estate transactions, making them more accessible and efficient for the public. Director General Murtaza highlighted that the new platform would allow residents to conduct property transfers entirely online, bypassing the previous manual methods that were both time-consuming and prone to errors. The online system will handle applications and the issuance of challans digitally, aiming to eliminate the traditional issues associated with the manual file system.
“This reform is part of our ongoing efforts to enhance service delivery and transparency within the RDA, as directed by Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz,” Murtaza stated. She added that these IT-based reforms are expected to curb corruption and reduce the influence of agent mafias, thereby offering citizens a more reliable and straightforward experience in managing property transactions.
The implementation of this digital solution marks a critical step in modernizing the operations of the RDA, addressing longstanding challenges associated with land use approvals and property transfers in Rawalpindi.
