Saudia Reports 10% Increase in Guest Traffic for Q3 2024, Expands Service Potential to Pakistan

Jeddah: Saudia, Saudi Arabia’s national airline, reported a 10% increase in guest traffic in the third quarter of 2024, transporting over nine million passengers on more than 49,500 flights. This growth marks an expansion in the airline’s operational footprint and includes plans to enhance connectivity between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, potentially offering more travel options for Pakistani expatriates, tourists, and pilgrims.

According to Saudia Airlines, the carrier recorded 146,700 flight hours during the quarter, an 11% rise from last year, with an on-time performance rate of 87.8%. International operations saw the transport of over five million guests, a 9% increase, on more than 21,900 flights, marking a 5% rise from the same period in 2023. In total, Saudia’s international fleet logged over 102,400 hours, with routes to major cities in Pakistan playing a significant role in the airline’s network.

Domestically, Saudia transported over four million guests, a 12% increase, on more than 27,500 flights, a 13% rise from the prior year. Domestic flight hours exceeded 44,200, with an on-time performance rate reaching 91.5%.

H.E. Engr. Ibrahim Al-Omar, Director General of Saudia Group, emphasized the airline’s dedication to operational excellence through a skilled workforce and advanced technology. “We remain committed to delivering innovative services that enhance the travel experience for our valued guests, and our new strategy meticulously addresses every aspect of air travel—from security and safety to expanding seating capacity to meet growing demand,” said Al-Omar.

Through the first nine months of 2024, Saudia carried over 25.3 million passengers across 143,800 flights. To support future growth, Saudia plans to expand its fleet with 131 new aircraft, which will bolster seating capacity and introduce new routes connecting the Kingdom with destinations across four continents, including expanded service to Pakistan. This strategic growth aligns with Saudi Vision 2030’s objectives, enhancing international ties and further integrating the Kingdom into global networks.
