Karachi: The stock market indices KSE30 and KSE100 experienced slight declines in their levels, with the KSE30 index closing at 52,475.51 points, down by 158.47 points, and the KSE100 index falling by 495.00 points to 175,547.98. The day’s trading also saw a notable volume of shares exchanged, highlighting continued investor engagement despite the downturn.
According to JS Global, the day’s movements indicate a -0.30% change for the KSE30 and a -0.28% change for the KSE100. Among the gainers, PSX led with a percentage increase of 3.89%, followed by IBFL and PGLC with gains of 3.32% and 2.27%, respectively. The losers included KTML, ISL, and PIOC, showing declines of 3.18%, 2.92%, and 2.31%, respectively. The market capitalization showed a marginal decrease, closing at Rs 19,717.57 billion, translating to US$ 70.98 billion.
The trading session saw a total volume of 711.20 million shares, amounting to a value of Rs 25.40 billion or US$ 91.42 million. Despite the slight drop in indices, the market's overall engagement remains strong, reflecting a robust trading environment. Regional market performance varied, with indices such as China’s SSEA and India’s BSESN experiencing declines, whereas Indonesia’s JKSE showed a positive trend.
