UBG President Welcomes Trilateral Defence Agreement Among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye

KARACHI: The President of the United Business Group (UBG), Zubair Tufail, has endorsed a newly signed joint defence agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye, describing it as a pivotal step toward bolstering defence, diplomatic, and strategic collaboration among the three Islamic nations.

According to United Business Group, Tufail emphasized that the agreement, reached in Makkah Mukarramah, is a positive development for the Muslim world, potentially contributing to peace and stability in the region. He noted the existing strong historical, religious, and cultural connections among the countries, suggesting that the defence pact could further solidify these ties. In the current global and regional context, Tufail highlighted the importance of mutual trust, cooperation, and unity among Islamic nations, viewing the enhanced defence collaboration as a constructive initiative.

Tufail stated that the cooperation between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye could be beneficial not only for these countries but also for the entire Muslim Ummah's collective interests. He expressed optimism that the agreement would enhance cooperation in the defence sector, including experience and technology exchange, joint training programs, and improved defence capabilities.

The UBG President also advocated for the expansion of trade, investment, industry, energy, and economic ties alongside the defence cooperation. He identified significant potential for economic collaboration among the three countries and called for the promotion of joint ventures and investment in their private sectors. Strengthening connections among business communities and organizing trade and investment forums regularly were also emphasized.

Tufail clarified that the agreement is not directed against any country but is intended to contribute positively to the collective security, peace, and stability of the Muslim Ummah. He believes that Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye can play a vital role in regional peace and protect the Muslim world's collective interests through unity, tolerance, and diplomatic cooperation. He expressed hope that the Makkah Mukarramah agreement would elevate relations among the three countries, enhancing unity and solidarity within the Muslim Ummah.
