Karachi: The 2nd Life Pakistan 2.0 program reached its grand finale, showcasing innovative approaches to waste management as climate solutions. Organized by SEED Ventures in partnership with Unilever Pakistan and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Pakistan, the event celebrated six outstanding teams awarded a total of PKR 2.625 million to advance their entrepreneurial projects.
The initiative, which spanned six months, aimed to revolutionize the concept of circular economy entrepreneurship by redefining waste as an opportunity rather than a problem. It brought together climate-focused startups, policymakers, and sustainability leaders to emphasize the importance of innovative waste solutions. More than 30 young ventures from across Pakistan participated, receiving mentorship and business development support to transform environmental challenges into scalable businesses.
Lance Domm, British Deputy High Commissioner, expressed his enthusiasm, noting the program's reflection of young Pakistanis' innovation and dedication to a sustainable future. Tariq Ali Nizamani, Managing Director of Sindh Solid Waste Management Board, highlighted the critical role of youth-led initiatives in driving Pakistan's climate progress and fostering inclusive green growth.
The program underscores the potential for real change when innovation aligns with purpose, offering a roadmap for addressing the climate crisis through entrepreneurship.
