Karachi: At a recent gathering in Karachi, business leaders highlighted the critical role young entrepreneurs from the Chiniot community play in bolstering Pakistan's economy. Anjum Nisar, former President of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and Vice Chairman of the Businessmen Group, emphasized that these young business minds are leveraging modern technology to engage in the country's import and export sectors.
Nisar praised the Chiniot Sheikh Society for its business achievements and its commitment to supporting community members. Speaking at a dinner hosted by businessman Mobeen Waqar Sheikh, in honor of KCCI Vice President Faisal Khalil Ahmed, Nisar expressed optimism about the youth's public service spirit, stating it assures a steady supply of generous contributors to the nation's growth.
The dinner, which recognized Faisal Khalil's contributions, was attended by prominent figures from the business community, including former KCCI President Shariq Vohra and other notable members.
Nisar also addressed the necessity for rapid economic development, urging the government to mitigate challenges faced by entrepreneurs. He raised concerns about electricity supply issues in the motorcycle auto parts market, criticizing K-Electric for inadequate service despite full payment by consumers.
Faisal Khalil, in his address, urged for the adoption of KCCI's proposals in the upcoming federal budget, cautioning against measures that could hinder economic progress. He noted that heavy taxation has negatively impacted businesses and the industrial sector but expressed hope for a business-friendly budget for 2025-26.
Khalil also underscored the readiness of young entrepreneurs to drive economic advancement, spotlighting their active participation through organizations like the Karachi Chamber of Commerce, MASPIDA, and others, to propel Pakistan's economic progress.
