Islamabad, August 10, 2022 (PPI-OT):Former President of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) Dr. Shahid Rasheed Butt on Sunday lauded the leadership of the army for bailing out the bankrupting economy at this critical juncture. He said that the business community is grateful to the Pakistan Army for its efforts to revive the economy.

Shahid Rasheed Butt said that the Army has helped the government overcome economic difficulties in the past and it has done the same now in the national interest. The countries and international institutions have accepted the request of the army because of its credibility.

During the previous government, Pakistan received billions of dollars from various sources because of the efforts of the COAS and now the army chief is doing the same to recover the economy. He noted it is good that the government and the army are on the same page and an ideal harmony can be seen which is being felt both in the country and outside the country.

The military leadership realizes that if the economy is weak, the country’s defence cannot remain strong, and it is in the country’s interest to put the economy back on track as soon as possible. The economy cannot perform if the nation is divided instead of being united and the county cannot enjoy independence unless there is economic independence. He said that as long as the government continues to be afraid of long-term projects and making difficult decisions, the economy will not be blessed with stability.
