Lahore: A grand cultural and trade festival, the Pak-China Chah (Love) Mela, is set to take place from February 21 to February 23, 2025, at the Wildlife Park (Safari Zoo) in Lahore. The event, organized by the Pakistan China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) in collaboration with several governmental and private entities, aims to celebrate the cultural and economic ties between Pakistan and China.
According to a statement by Pakistan China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the festival will emphasize the cultural similarities and culinary uniqueness of both nations, fostering a sense of mutual appreciation and collaboration. The event is poised to serve as a platform for enhancing bilateral relations and strengthening connections between the people of Pakistan and China.
Asim Javed, Director General of the Punjab Food Authority, highlighted that the festival will feature a variety of food stalls offering authentic Pakistani and Chinese cuisine. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore traditional flavors and signature dishes, experiencing the culinary traditions of both countries.
Brig. Mansoor Saeed Sheikh (Retd), Senior Vice President of PCJCCI, stated that the festival also aims to boost trade relations, creating new opportunities for businesses and investors from both nations. This initiative is expected to address disparities between the public and private sectors and promote economic collaboration.
A senior representative from Pak-Connects announced that the festival will also include a concert and Qawwali night, showcasing artists from both countries. This musical exchange aims to enhance cross-cultural appreciation and celebrate the shared artistic legacy of Pakistan and China.
Zafar Iqbal, Vice President of PCJCCI, and Salahuddin Hanif, Secretary General of PCJCCI, expressed that the festival promises an unforgettable experience for all attendees, including families, food enthusiasts, and cultural connoisseurs.
