Pakistan to Launch White Oil Pipeline Project for Enhanced Fuel Distribution

Islamabad: The Government of Pakistan has approved the commencement of the White Oil Pipeline Project, an endeavor designed to significantly enhance the nation’s fuel supply chain by upgrading its oil distribution network.

According to Zameen.Com, the project is a collaborative effort involving key stakeholders such as the Pakistan State Oil (PSO), Pak-Arab Refinery Limited (PARCO), and Inter-State Gas Systems, with the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) undertaking the construction. This strategic initiative is supported by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) and aligns with efforts to modernize Pakistan’s energy infrastructure.

The pipeline, spanning 477 kilometers, will facilitate the transport of petroleum products across various critical points in Pakistan, including Machike, Thalian, and Taru Jabba. It follows the motorway route, linking Attock Refinery with Chak Pirana and Faqirabad. This development not only aims to provide a more efficient and safer alternative to the current road transport methods but also anticipates an initial capacity of 7 million tonnes per year, with potential expansion up to 10 million tonnes.

The initiative is expected to significantly reduce transportation costs and bolster long-term energy security, reflecting the government’s commitment to ensuring a reliable and robust fuel supply for the future.
