Karachi: Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) has initiated an Employment-Based Digital Literacy Programme, aiming to empower underprivileged youth by providing digital skills training and securing online employment with international organizations.
According to a statement by Pakistan Petroleum Limited, the 16-week program, conducted in partnership with Dawood Global Foundation and X-Loop Digital, trained 15 students from various regions, including Sui, Dera Bugti, and Matiari, in Full Stack Engineering and Data Sciences. The training was held at the X-Loop Training Centre in Karachi.
The program's distinctive feature was its direct employment linkage with an international organization, ensuring students were placed in online jobs upon completion. PPL funded the program, with a total expenditure of Rs. 12 million, covering travel and accommodation costs for the duration of the training.
During the closing ceremony at the X-Loop Training Centre, PPL's MD and CEO, Mr. Imran Abbasy, awarded certificates to the graduates. The event was attended by GM Shared Services PPL Mr. Mahmood ul Hasan, CEO DGF Tara Uzra Dawood, and CEO X-Loop Digital Mir Nasir, who applauded PPL's efforts in setting a precedent for similar initiatives.
