Karachi: In a move to promote environmental sustainability, Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) and the World Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF) have partnered to launch a tree plantation drive titled 'Plant for Pakistan'. The initiative, held at the PTCL Training Academy in Islamabad, aligns with PTCL's Independence Day campaign, 'Pakistan Jitna Jawan', and aims to foster a greener and more sustainable Pakistan.
According to Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited, the event saw participation from Nadeem Khan, CEO of PTCL, and Rab Nawaz, Senior Director Programmes at WWF-Pakistan, alongside executive management and staff from both organizations. The collective effort is part of a broader strategy to contribute towards a healthier environment and a sustainable future for the country.
The 'Plant for Pakistan' drive is a reflection of PTCL's ongoing commitment to reducing its environmental impact. It is part of the company's sustainability agenda, which includes efforts to decrease its carbon footprint and strive towards the long-term objective of achieving net-zero carbon emissions. This initiative complements PTCL's efforts to support a climate-resilient future for Pakistan.
Through the 'Pakistan Jitna Jawan' campaign, PTCL aims to celebrate Pakistan's spirit and potential by taking actions that foster a more connected and empowered nation. The tree plantation drive underscores the belief that progress and innovation must be coupled with environmental stewardship to build a better Pakistan.
