Islamabad: The Swiss Embassy's newly appointed Deputy Head of Mission, Laurent Cousinou, recently toured Nestle Pakistan's Sheikhupura factory, praising the company's dedication to Pakistan's economic advancement, sustainable practices, and renewable energy endeavors.
Mr. Cousinou highlighted Nestle Pakistan's Swiss roots and its numerous projects in recent years. He specifically mentioned the firm's $50 million export target for 2030 and its PKR 2 billion investment in sustainable and renewable energy projects as evidence of its dedication to Pakistan's financial well-being.
Faisal Nadeem, Nestle Pakistan's Head of Technical, expressed his pleasure at Mr. Cousinou's visit and his interest in their activities. He reiterated the organization's 35-year commitment to positively impacting the nation's future through export expansion and investment in renewable energy and environmental projects.
The corporation has also intensified its localization efforts, sourcing over 90% of its packaging and raw materials domestically, thus bolstering local businesses.
Nestle Pakistan previously launched a PKR 2 billion investment in renewable energy, commissioning two solar power facilities in Sheikhupura and Kabirwala, along with two biomass boilers and additional solar installations at various locations. The corporation has pledged to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2050, aligning with UN Sustainable Development Goals 13 and 15.
With four production facilities nationwide, Nestle Pakistan offers a diverse range of food and beverage products, contributing to balanced diets for millions of Pakistanis.
