Interest Rates Show Modest Variations Across Different Tenors

Karachi: The latest data released by the State Bank of Pakistan indicates slight variations in the Karachi Interbank Offered Rate (KIBOR) across different tenors, reflecting nuanced shifts in the financial market's lending landscape.

The KIBOR for a one-week tenor is recorded at a bid rate of 10.92 percent and an offer rate of 11.42 percent. A marginal decrease is observed in the two-week tenor, with the bid and offer rates standing at 10.90 percent and 11.40 percent, respectively.

For the one-month tenor, the rates show a slight decline, with a bid rate of 10.86 percent and an offer rate of 11.36 percent. The three-month tenor exhibits a bid rate of 10.81 percent and an offer rate of 11.06 percent.

In the longer-term tenors, the six-month rates are quoted at 10.78 percent for the bid and 11.03 percent for the offer. The nine-month tenor stands at a bid rate of 10.72 percent and an offer rate of 11.22 percent.

The one-year tenor reflects the lowest rates among the listed tenors, with a bid rate of 10.68 percent and an offer rate of 11.18 percent.

The data underscores the minor fluctuations in interbank lending rates, which are closely monitored by financial institutions and investors for potential impacts on borrowing costs and investment decisions.
