Pakistan and India Renew Kartarpur Corridor Agreement for Five More Years

Narowal: The Government of Pakistan has extended the Kartarpur Corridor agreement with India for an additional five years, ensuring continued visa-free access for Sikh pilgrims to the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur. This extension reaffirms Pakistan’s commitment to promoting interfaith harmony and maintaining peaceful cross-border relations with India.

According to Zameen.Com, the agreement, originally signed on October 24, 2019, allows Indian pilgrims to visit the significant religious site where Baba Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism, spent his final years. The corridor has been a pivotal initiative in facilitating thousands of Sikh pilgrims annually to partake in their spiritual practices without the need for a visa, enhancing cultural exchange and mutual respect between the two neighboring countries.

The extension of this agreement marks a significant step in continuing the efforts to bridge communities through faith and cooperation, highlighting the corridor’s role not only as a religious passage but also as a symbol of diplomacy and peace.
