Karachi: Malik Muhammad Bostan, Chairman of the Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan, has raised concerns over the devastating floods impacting Punjab, urging for a more coordinated federal response.

Bostan acknowledged the Punjab government's relief efforts but highlighted the need for comprehensive federal action. He called for unity among political parties, emphasizing that this is not a time for political point-scoring but for meaningful actions, such as relocating victims and participating in long-term rehabilitation.

Over 1.8 million people have been directly affected, many displaced and living without shelter. Bostan stressed the importance of moving beyond rhetoric to deliver tangible relief and rehabilitation.

Addressing regional tensions, Bostan accused India of engaging in "water terrorism" following its defeat in conventional warfare. He assured that under military leadership, Pakistan is prepared to meet this challenge.

He praised the Pakistan Armed Forces and disaster management agencies for their emergency response and warned that floodwaters are now threatening Sindh. With forecasts of more rain, he urged for immediate preventive measures to avoid further crises in cities like Karachi.
