Lahore: Rana Tanveer Hussain, Federal Minister for Industries and Production, has launched a new initiative to enhance collaboration between federal and provincial governments to support the development of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) across Pakistan. This initiative, which is in line with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s guidance, was kicked off with a meeting today at the PCOM with key stakeholders from the Punjab Government’s Industries department.
According to Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority, the meeting included prominent figures such as Mr. Ehsan Bhutta, Secretary Industries of Punjab, and Ms. Saira Umar, Managing Director of the Punjab Small Industries Corporation. The federal delegation was led by Mr. Saif Anjum, alongside Mr. Socrat Aman Rana, CEO of SMEDA, with several senior officers like Ms. Saleha Saeed and Ms. Nadia Jehangir Seth also in attendance.
The Federal Minister emphasized the pivotal role of SMEs in national economic growth, innovation, and social stability. He announced that similar coordination meetings are planned with other provinces to ensure a supportive and conducive environment for SMEs throughout the country. These discussions aim to streamline regulations and enhance access to finance and technology for SMEs, crucial for achieving equitable economic development and optimizing job creation in Pakistan.
