Saudia Introduces Airbus A321XLR, Enhancing Travel for Pakistani Passengers

Riyadh: Saudia, the national airline of Saudi Arabia, has taken delivery of its first Airbus A321XLR, becoming the first in the Middle East and Africa to operate the long-range narrow-body aircraft. This development aligns with Saudia's strategy to expand its fleet with advanced models to improve operational efficiency and passenger experience.

According to Saudia Airlines, the A321XLR boasts a range of up to 8,700 kilometers, allowing for longer international routes with the efficiency of a narrow-body aircraft. This capability is expected to improve international connectivity and align resources with market demand while maintaining a quality onboard experience. The aircraft introduces "The New Saudia Experience," featuring enhanced comfort, connectivity, and entertainment options, including 24 Business Class suites and 120 Guest Class seats with personal entertainment screens and charging ports.

The aircraft is equipped with high-speed inflight connectivity for browsing, live streaming, and virtual meetings. Business Class passengers will enjoy an in-flight chef service offering a selection of Saudi and international cuisine. The modernization of Saudia's fleet, including the addition of the A321XLR, aims to strengthen travel links between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, particularly during high-demand periods like Hajj and Umrah. This move is expected to offer greater travel flexibility and comfort for Pakistani passengers.

His Excellency Engr. Ibrahim Al-Omar, Director General of Saudia Group, emphasized that the introduction of the A321XLR marks a significant step in Saudia's transformation, focusing on enhancing competitiveness and supporting Saudi Arabia's aviation goals. Saudia plans to integrate 15 Airbus A321XLR aircraft into its fleet by 2027. This fleet expansion supports Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 and its aviation strategy as the country prepares to host major international events such as the AFC Asian Cup 2027, Expo 2030, and the 2034 FIFA World Cup.
