Lahore: In a significant stride toward digital inclusivity, the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) in partnership with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has launched a nationwide digital literacy training program specifically tailored for women entrepreneurs throughout Pakistan. This initiative aims to furnish them with the necessary digital skills to enhance their business capabilities and ensure their proficiency in digital security.

According to Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority, the program intends to bridge the digital knowledge gap among women entrepreneurs in Pakistan, enabling them to thrive in an increasingly digital business environment. The training encompasses practical skills for navigating digital tools and platforms, crucial for the growth and sustainability of their enterprises.

The program kicked off with successful sessions in Layyah, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Karachi, targeting women from varied socio-economic backgrounds to ensure broad accessibility and impact. It is set to continue over the next six months, expanding to additional regions with the objective of fostering a robust foundation for women-led businesses in the digital sphere.

Participants have already reported tangible benefits from the training, utilizing their new skills in market research and online business management. This early success underscores the program’s effectiveness in equipping women entrepreneurs with the tools necessary for digital engagement and business success.

The initiative not only focuses on skill development but also on integrating digital solutions into business operations, aiming for sustained growth and expanded business opportunities for women entrepreneurs across Pakistan.
