Türkiye and Pakistan Strengthen Brotherhood Through Education and Trade

Karachi: In a heartfelt farewell reception hosted by the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Türkiye's Consul General Dr. Cemal Sangu emphasized the deep-rooted, brotherly ties between Türkiye and Pakistan, underscoring not only the focus on trade but also on elevating educational standards in Pakistan. Dr. Sangu highlighted the establishment of 28 Pak-Turk Maarif International Schools and Colleges across Pakistan and the initiation of a teachers' training program that has awarded 800 certificates, reflecting Türkiye's commitment to Pakistan's educational advancement.

During the reception, attended by prominent figures such as Chairman Businessmen Group Zubair Motiwala and KCCI President Muhammad Jawed Bilwani, Dr. Sangu articulated the historical and emotional bonds shared by the two nations. He warmly described Pakistan as his "first home" and expressed gratitude for the solidarity shown by both countries in times of natural disasters. Dr. Sangu's poetic reference to the nations' relationship as "higher than K2 and sweeter than Sindhri mangoes" resonated deeply with the attendees.

The Turkish diplomat also highlighted Türkiye's support for around 200 informal schools in underprivileged areas and the establishment of IT labs in Sindh's universities to bolster digital education. He acknowledged the significant potential for expanding bilateral trade, particularly in sectors like surgical goods, sports equipment, and seafood, urging Pakistani exporters to capitalize on these opportunities.

Zubair Motiwala praised Dr. Sangu's efforts in enhancing trade relations and promoting cultural ties, while encouraging Pakistani businessmen to explore trade prospects during visits to Türkiye. He also expressed appreciation for Türkiye's diplomatic support in regional conflicts and humanitarian crises.

KCCI President Bilwani lauded Dr. Sangu's impactful tenure since December 2021, noting the significant growth in Pakistan-Türkiye trade under his leadership. He extended warm wishes to Dr. Sangu and recognized the important role of diplomatic families in fostering international friendships.

The event underscored the enduring partnership between Türkiye and Pakistan, with both nations committed to furthering cooperation in education and commerce for mutual prosperity.
