Karachi: Urea sales in Pakistan reached an all-time high in 2025, with December alone seeing a 37 percent year-over-year increase, according to a recent press release. The surge brought the total urea sales for the calendar year to 6.7 million tons, marking a 2 percent rise from the previous year. Despite these gains, other fertilizers like DAP and NP experienced declines, while CAN and NPK saw increases in offtake.
According to AKD Securities Limited, EFERT and FATIMA recorded year-over-year sales growth of 10 percent and 16 percent respectively in 2025. In contrast, FFC's urea offtakes decreased by 9 percent. The report also highlighted a drop in DAP sales by 18 percent and NP sales by 9 percent for the year, while CAN and NPK experienced growth of 41 percent and 1 percent, respectively.
Despite the mixed results across different fertilizer types, AKD Securities Limited maintains a positive outlook on the sector. The report suggests a stable earning outlook and higher dividend yields as reasons for this stance, with FFC and ENGROH identified as preferred choices for investors.
