KSE-100 Index Experiences Volatile Session with Declining Trading Volumes

Karachi: The KSE-100 Index exhibited a volatile trading session, opening on a slightly positive note before closing with a gain of 282 points at 98,080. Despite the increase, trading volumes saw a significant decline of 45% compared to the previous session. The index fluctuated widely, peaking at 1,519 points and hitting a low of 661 points.

According to AKD Securities Limited, the index closed below the upper band by 4.2%, with Bollinger Bands 71.04% wider than normal, suggesting high volatility. This indicates an increased likelihood of reduced volatility in the near term, potentially leading the index to enter or remain in a trading range. Initial support is predicted near 97,600 points, with possible further weakness towards 97,200 and 96,800 points if this level is breached. Conversely, resistance may be encountered at 98,300 points, with further targets at 98,800 and 99,300 points. Traders are advised to proceed cautiously and employ stop-loss strategies.
