KSE-100 Index Makes Gains with Notable Performers in the Market

Karachi: The Karachi Stock Exchange's KSE-100 index saw an uptick as it closed at 98,079.78, marking a 0.29% increase and a gain of 281.55 points. The KSE-30 index also showed positive movement, closing at 30,558.73 with a 0.26% increase. This upward trend reflects a year-to-date increase of 57.05% in CY24 for the KSE-100 index.

According to JS Global, several stocks emerged as significant gainers. JVDC topped the list with a 9.99% increase, closing at 50.52. LOTCHEM followed, rising by 6.90% to reach 19.52, while BAHL marked a 6.75% increase, closing at 124.04. On the other hand, NCPL saw a decline, losing 3.15% to close at 27.63, while FFC and EFERT dropped by 2.92% and 2.80%, respectively.

The Pakistan Stock Exchange's market capitalization experienced a slight increase of 0.12%, reaching Rs 12,533.37 billion. This marked a significant year-to-date increase of 38.29%. The total volume of shares traded was 640.26 million, with a total value of Rs 25.62 billion.

In the regional context, the Indian BSESN index rose by 1.3%, while Korea's KOSPI index also increased by the same percentage. Meanwhile, the Taiwan TWII index reflected a modest gain of 0.2%, achieving a notable 28% year-to-date growth.
