Sindh Government Pledges to Address Concerns Over Yellow Line BRT Project Through Stakeholder Consultations

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has assured the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) that their concerns regarding the Yellow Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project will be addressed through consultations with all relevant stakeholders. He emphasized the need for collaboration between the Sindh government and the business community to foster industrial growth across the province. According to Korangi Association of Trade and Industry, these remarks were made during a KATI-organized ceremony to honor Dr. Abdul Bari, CEO of Indus Hospital, with a Gold Medal for his contributions to the healthcare sector.

During the event, Chief Minister Shah noted that despite a decline in the amount allocated to provinces under the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award, efforts have been made to ensure provincial development projects remain unaffected. He highlighted that lessons learned from the Red Line project would be applied to the Yellow Line initiative, aiming to complete it promptly and minimize public inconvenience. Furthermore, he acknowledged the Rs9 billion allocated for development in Karachi's industrial zones, including a Rs2 billion grant for KATI, and praised KITE Limited for its infrastructure efforts in the Korangi Industrial Area.

KATI President Muhammad Ikram Rajput expressed gratitude for the Sindh government's support, particularly the Rs2 billion grant to KITE Limited. He also urged for the construction of a link road to alleviate traffic congestion at Korangi Crossing, a developing educational hub. Deputy Patron-in-Chief Zubair Chhaya lauded Sindh's healthcare achievements and the role of Indus Hospital as a leading welfare institution. Meanwhile, Dr. Abdul Bari, upon receiving the Gold Medal, shared the growth and impact of Indus Hospital's network since its establishment in 2005, attributing its success to the support from the Sindh government and business community.
